Also, enjoy this interview with local Chef Jacob Hough….
Barcelona Executive Chef Jacob Hough is just one of the talented chefs from across Central Ohio scheduled to appear as part of the Crave Cooking Series at the Home & Garden Show and Holiday Fest on Sunday, Sept. 7.
We pried him away from his kitchen at the popular German Village restaurant long enough for him to answer a few questions ahead of his appearance at the show. There, he and Barcelona pastry chef Stephanie Kincaid will make Spanish short bread cookies that can be tweaked to fit your own personal taste.

What can our readers do to take their holiday cooking to the next level?
Try to find some interesting plateware to use and a couple of little garnishes that can enhance the plate itself. And then maybe add an interesting cocktail to go with dessert.
Did holiday cooking play at all into your decision to become a chef?
Not too much. I guess maybe spending time with family and the homemade food, those parts did.
Do you like being a chef more or less during the holiday season, or is there really no difference?
I don’t think there really is a difference. I enjoy all different aspects of it and like to change things up and keep things stimulating for me.
After preparing so many dishes for so many holiday parties, do you generally still feel like cooking for your own holiday parties?
I really enjoy having my mom cook for me. That’s kind of nice, having her do the cooking and taking a break for a moment.
Complete this sentence: Holiday entertaining isn’t complete without….
Good food, good drinks and close family.
